Justification
In N. Macedonia, only a few specimens of Galerina jaapii have been observed in a single locality, in a peat bog with the moss Sphagnum. These types of habitats are rare in the country, and they are found at altitudes above 1,600 m, and none of them are protected. It is worth noting that this species is not related only to Sphagnum but it can also occur in other types of wet habitats. The number of specimens in all projected habitats is estimated at approximately 500. Given that the species is known only from one locality with minor
number of individuals, and considering the significance of peat bogs in N. Macedonia and overall in Europe, it is proposed for the category of Endangered (EN).
